Job Overview

We are seeking a Management Accountant who is an excellent problem solver with attention to details for looking after our company’s accounts. As a management accountant, the person will be responsible for advising managers about the financial implications of business decisions to support growth and profit of the company.

The overall aim of the role is to help the company management develop sound business strategies and decisions to adapt to changing internal and external circumstances and developments.

We need someone with excellent mathematical skills, along with a strong sense of inquiry and analytical state of mind to look ahead and pre-empt problems for better business decision making and control. If you are confident about your knowledge of financial terms and accounting techniques, and have a knack for explaining financial information to non-financial managers, then we would want to meet you!

Job Responsibilities

  • Gathering and analysing financial information for internal use.
  • Preparing reports, budgets, commentaries on management accounts.
  • Taking responsibilities of budgeting procedures.
  • Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.
  • Explaining the financial consequences of business decisions applying accounting techniques to plan and budget.
  • Advising managers about the financial implications of projects.
  • Evaluating the company’s performance using key financial data.
  • Identifying and managing risk.
  • Monitoring spending and exercising financial control.
  • Conducting internal business audits.
  • Formulating business strategies to create wealth and shareholder value.
  • Liaising with managerial staff and other colleagues.
  • Supervising a team of accounting technicians.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as management accountant, accounting supervisor or any other similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting terms and concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of finance regulations and legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
  • Organisational and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to discuss financial issues with individuals from both finance and non-finance background.
  • Excellent understanding of business strategy and management information systems.
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar field.
  • Relevant certification e.g. CMA or CGMA will be preferred.
